About Me
Welcome to my blog!
Hi, I'm Nikka.
I'm a developer by trade, traveler by habit, and, for the past few years, someone who has been very slowly learning the difference between waiting and living.
A few years ago, everything went on pause. I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, and for a while, life became a waiting room. Waiting for results, waiting for recovery, waiting to feel like myself again. What I didn't expect was what the waiting would teach me. Gratitude showed up slowly, then all at once. So did clarity. And eventually, so did everything I'd been afraid I might miss.
I used to put things on pause. Waiting until I was ready. Waiting until it was the right time. Cancer has a way of ending that habit. Now I try to live like everything counts, because it does. There's a reason for everything. Nothing is actually on pause. It's all on purpose.
This blog is where I put the things I want to remember, and the things I think might help someone else who is quietly going through the same thing. I write about life after Thyroid cancer, building things as a developer, managing money without losing my mind, traveling whenever I can, and whatever else I happen to be figuring out that week.
Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
